NTL(down 4.65%), Tata Power Company(down 2.03%), KEC International(down 1.97%), GE Power India Limited(down 1.79%), PTC India(down 1.59%), Suzlon Energy(down 1.41%), Power Grid Corporation of India(down 1.15%), SJVN(down 1.14%), NHPC(down 1.07%) and Reliance Power(down 1.06%) were among the top losers of the day.
The NSE Nifty50 index ended 27.05 points down at 18017.2, while the 30-share BSE Sensex closed down 80.63 points at 60352.82.
UPL Ltd(up 3.34%), Bharti Airtel(up 3.12%), Mahindra & Mahindra(up 3.08%), Britannia Industries(up 2.12%), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries(up 1.22%), Reliance Industries(up 1.12%), ITC(up 0.92%), Bajaj Finserv(up 0.85%), Eicher Motors(up 0.83%) and TATA CONSUMER PRODUCTS(up 0.81%) stood among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.
On the other hand, IndusInd Bank(down 3.37%), Hindalco Industries(down 3.2%), Tata Steel(down 2.8%), Coal India(down 2.23%), JSW Steel(down 2.11%), SBI Life(down 1.95%), Hindustan Unilever(down 1.28%), Asian Paints(down 1.17%), Power Grid Corporation of India(down 1.15%) and Titan Company Ltd(down 1.09%) closed in the red.
