The NSE Nifty50 index was trading 94.15 points down at 17950.1, while the 30-share BSE Sensex was down 326.34 points at 60107.11 at around 09:59AM.
UPL Ltd(up 2.03%), Mahindra & Mahindra(up 1.71%), Britannia Industries(up 1.11%), Eicher Motors(up 0.99%), Bharat Petroleum Corporation(up 0.69%), Cipla(up 0.68%), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries(up 0.67%), Oil & Natural Gas Corporation(up 0.61%), Dr Reddys Laboratories(up 0.51%) and Bharti Airtel(up 0.39%) were among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.
On the other hand, Tata Steel(down 2.24%), JSW Steel(down 2.23%), Coal India(down 2.02%), Hindalco Industries(down 1.97%), IndusInd Bank(down 1.53%), ICICI Bank(down 1.41%), SBI Life(down 1.35%), HDFC(down 1.32%), Kotak Mahindra Bank(down 1.19%) and Asian Paints(down 1.07%) were trading in the red.
