The 30-share Sensex ended 767.0 points up at 60686.69, while the 50-share Nifty index closed 229.15 points up at 18102.75.
In the Nifty 50 index, 42 stocks ended in the green, while 8 stocks closed in the red.
Meanwhile, stocks such as Bigbloc Const, Asahi Ind Glass, Megastar Foods, Sheela Foam and S P Apparels hit their fresh 52-week high, while Tiaan Ayurvedic & He, Focus Business Solution Ltd., Triveni Enterprises, ERP Soft Sys and Nutech Global touched their new 52-week low in today’s trade.
