The scrip zoomed to a high of Rs 1,085 on the BSE as against the previous close of Rs 979.75.
The Baba Ramdev-led firm’s strong showing in the previous quarter was primarily on account of healthy sales. In the second quarter of the last financial year, Ruchi Soya had posted a net profit of Rs 126.73 crore.
According to a regulatory filing, net income during the July-September 2021 rose to Rs 6,010.99 crore, compared with Rs 3,990.72 crore in the year-ago period. Expenses rose to Rs 5,790.52 crore from Rs 3,863.98 crore a year ago.
The company, which has brands including Ruchi Gold, Mahakosh, Sunrich, Nutrela and Ruchi Star, witnessed sales of Rs 431.12 crore in the door business segment in the July-September period, accounting for 9.56 per cent of total branded business.
Total branded business (inclusive of brands sold under royalty arrangements and those in the institutional segment) posted sales of Rs 45,511.82 crore in the said quarter.
In the current year, the company has introduced a blended edible oil called Ruchi Sunlight and several bakery products under the brand name Patanjali.
