Tata Motors(up 2.57 per cent), Bharat Forge(up 1.87 per cent), Bosch(up 1.14 per cent), MRF(up 1.03 per cent) and TVS Motor Company(up 0.96 per cent) were among the top gainers.
Ashok Leyland(down 1.29 per cent), Amara Raja Batteries(down 0.76 per cent), Balkrishna Industries(down 0.64 per cent), Exide Industries(down 0.39 per cent) and Hero MotoCorp(down 0.24 per cent) were the top losers on the index.
The Nifty Auto index was up 0.78 per cent at 12070.8 at the time of writing this report.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 7.05 points at 17992.15, while the BSE Sensex was up 3.67 points at 60326.04.
