Macrotech Developers(down 4.3 per cent), Oberoi Realty(down 3.42 per cent), Brigade Enterprises(down 3.38 per cent), Indiabulls Real Estate(down 3.16 per cent) and DLF(down 2.24 per cent) were the top losers on the index.
The Nifty Realty index was down 1.53 per cent at 527.95 at the time of writing this report.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 143.9 points at 17754.75, while the BSE Sensex was down 429.66 points at 59578.67.
