Stock market update: FMCG stocks down as market falls

NEW DELHI: FMCG stocks were trading lower on Monday at 10:43AM

Nakoda Group(up 4.64%), Vadilal Industries(up 2.94%), Tasty Bite Eatables(up 1.62%), Britannia Industries(up 0.74%), Dabur India(up 0.73%) and Umang Dairies(up 0.27%) were among the top gainers.

Varun Beverages(down 3.29%), Heritage Foods(down 3.17%), DFM Foods(down 2.93%), Prataap Snacks(down 2.81%), Dodla Dairy(down 2.65%), Mrs Bectors Food Specialities(down 2.27%), ADF Foods(down 2.23%), Emami(down 2.13%), Parag Milk(down 2.02%) and Godrej Consumer Products(down 2.01%) were among the top losers.

The NSE Nifty50 index was trading 199.85 points down at 17564.95, while the 30-share BSE Sensex was down 689.92 points at 58946.09 at around 10:43AM.

Bharti Airtel(up 4.14%), Asian Paints(up 2.05%), Power Grid Corporation of India(up 1.3%), Cipla(up 0.95%), Britannia Industries(up 0.79%), Tata Consultancy(up 0.58%), Hindalco Industries(up 0.56%), JSW Steel(up 0.49%) and Wipro(up 0.21%) were among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, Bajaj Finance(down 4.61%), Tata Motors(down 3.61%), Reliance Industries(down 3.34%), Bajaj Finserv(down 2.71%), Titan Company Ltd(down 2.51%), Oil & Natural Gas Corporation(down 2.4%), Indian Oil Corporation(down 2.09%), Kotak Mahindra Bank(down 1.99%), Maruti Suzuki(down 1.99%) and State Bank of India(down 1.97%) were trading in the red.
