RBLBANK(down 3.27 per cent), Punjab National Bank(down 3.12 per cent), State Bank of India(down 3.05 per cent), Kotak Mahindra Bank(down 2.4 per cent) and Federal Bank(down 2.22 per cent) were the top losers on the index.
The Nifty Bank index was down 1.63 per cent at 37356.1 at the time of writing this report.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 196.0 points at 17568.8, while the BSE Sensex was down 684.33 points at 58951.68.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 12 were trading in the green, while 38 were in the red.
