Benchmark NSE Nifty index fell 184.6 points to 17580.2 amid selling in frontline bluechip stocks.
However, stocks such as Fino Payments Bank Ltd., Sadbhav Eng, SJS Enterprises Ltd., Sapphire Foods India Ltd. and Nidan Laboratories And Healthcare Ltd., touched their fresh 52-week low.
Overall, 9 shares traded in the green in Nifty50 index, while 41 traded in the red.
In the Nifty 50 index, Bharti Airtel, Asian Paints, Power Grid, Hindalco and Cipla were among top gainers, while Bajaj Finance, RIL, Tata Motors, Bajaj Finserv and Titan Company traded in the red.
The BSE Sensex was trading 637.8 points down at 58998.21 at 10:48AM(IST).
Traders were seen piling up positions in Telecommunications, Building Materials, IT Enabled Services, InvIT and Holding Company sectors, while selling was visible in Miscellaneous, Tourism & Hospitality, Learning & Education, Services and Sugar sectors.
