Sensex rises! But these stocks are down 5% or more on BSE

NEW DELHI: Several stocks plunged in excess of 5 per cent in Mumbai trading on Wednesday even as equity benchmark BSE Sensex traded 161.48 points up at 58825.81 amid brisk buying in frontline bluechip counters.

On the BSE, Tarini International(down 20.00 per cent), Prime Fresh(down 15.50 per cent), Centenial Surg(down 9.72 per cent), Captain Pipes(down 9.43 per cent) and Galactico Corporate(down 6.67 per cent) were among the stocks that plunged over 5 per cent during the session.

In the Nifty pack, 31 stocks traded in the green, while 19 stocks traded in the red.

The Nifty index was trading 54.05 points up at 17557.4.

On the BSE, Vikas Proppant & Gr, Monotype India, Kansal Fibres, Niraj Cement and Spandana Sphoorty hit their fresh 52-week lows, while Ajanta Soya, Kabra Extrusion, Dhanlaxmi Fab, SBC Exports and Promax Power Ltd. touched their fresh 52-week highs.
