Shares of Bandhan Bank(up 1.92 per cent), Kotak Mahindra Bank(up 1.18 per cent), HDFC Bank(up 0.52 per cent) and RBLBANK(up 0.22 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.
On the other hand, Punjab National Bank(down 1.24 per cent), ICICI Bank(down 1.2 per cent), AU Small Finance Bank(down 1.15 per cent), IndusInd Bank(down 1.14 per cent) and Axis Bank(down 0.77 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.
The Nifty Bank index closed 0.21 per cent down at 37364.75.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended up 121.2 points at 17536.25, while the BSE Sensex stood up 454.1 points at 58795.09.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 23 ended in the green, while 27 closed in the red.
Shares of Vodafone Idea, Tata Power, YES Bank, Zomato Ltd. and PNB were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of Sarthak Metals, Bajaj Healthcare, Dhruv Consultancy, R Systems Intnl and Latent View Analytics Ltd. hit their fresh 52-week highs in today’s trade, while Vikas Proppant & Gr, Nidan Laboratories And Healthcare Ltd., Destiny Logistics & Infra Ltd., Dev Information Tech and Swan Energy hit their fresh 52-week lows.
