DPSC(up 20.00%), Energy Development Company(up 4.82%), Indowind Energy(up 4.79%), Orient Green Power Company(up 4.73%), K.P.I. Global Infras(up 4.68%), PIGL(up 2.39%) and Indo Tech Transformers(up 1.60%) stood among the top gainers.
Tata Power Company(down 6.36%), ABBPP&SLTD(down 5.27%), Reliance Power(down 4.91%), JSW Energy(down 4.76%), NTPC(down 4.70%), NLC India(down 3.83%), Adani Power(down 3.62%), PTC India(down 3.50%), KEC International(down 3.34%) and Inox wind(down 2.96%) were among the top losers of the day.
The NSE Nifty50 index ended 509.8 points down at 17026.45, while the 30-share BSE Sensex closed down 1687.94 points at 57107.15.
Cipla(up 7.42%), Dr Reddys Laboratories(up 3.47%), Divis Laboratories(up 2.88%), Nestle India(up 0.23%) and Tata Consultancy(up 0.03%) stood among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.
On the other hand, JSW Steel(down 7.67%), Hindalco Industries(down 6.72%), Tata Motors(down 6.61%), IndusInd Bank(down 5.99%), Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone(down 5.94%), Bharat Petroleum Corporation(down 5.81%), Maruti Suzuki(down 5.31%), Tata Steel(down 5.23%), Oil & Natural Gas Corporation(down 5.16%) and TATA CONSUMER PRODUCTS(down 5.09%) closed in the red.
