Hero MotoCorp(down 2.45 per cent), TIINDIA(down 1.78 per cent), Exide Industries(down 1.45 per cent), MRF(down 1.42 per cent) and Bajaj Auto(down 1.13 per cent) were the top losers on the index.
The Nifty Auto index was down 0.36 per cent at 10720.45 at the time of writing this report.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 12.7 points at 17013.75, while the BSE Sensex was up 10.81 points at 57117.96.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 19 were trading in the green, while 31 were in the red.
