HCL Technologies(up 2.43 per cent), Tata Consultancy(up 1.09 per cent), Coforge(up 1.06 per cent), Larsen & Toubro Infotech(up 0.88 per cent) and Wipro(up 0.8 per cent) were among the top gainers.
MPhasis(down 2.27 per cent) and L&T Technology(down 1.91 per cent) were the top losers on the index.
The Nifty IT index was up 0.66 per cent at 34835.0 at the time of writing this report.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 49.05 points at 17075.5, while the BSE Sensex was up 217.08 points at 57324.23.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 24 were trading in the green, while 26 were in the red.
