Pfizer(up 4.49 per cent), Torrent Pharmaceuticals(up 1.93 per cent), Dr Reddys Laboratories(up 1.85 per cent), Cipla(up 1.21 per cent) and Gland Pharma(up 0.42 per cent) were among the top gainers.
Granules India(down 2.02 per cent), Aurobindo Pharma(down 1.89 per cent), Alembic Pharmaceuticals(down 1.82 per cent), Strides Pharma Science(down 1.61 per cent) and Laurus(down 1.53 per cent) were the top losers on the index.
The Nifty Pharma index was down 0.17 per cent at 13773.25 at the time of writing this report.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 22.1 points at 17004.35, while the BSE Sensex was down 21.27 points at 57085.88.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 16 were trading in the green, while 34 were in the red.
