NEW DELHI: Several stocks rallied as much as 15% in Mumbai trading on Tuesday even as equity benchmarks, BSE Sensex and NSE Nifty, traded in the red amid brisk selling in frontline bluechip counters.
Stocks that surged in excess of 15% included, Go Fashion(India)Ltd.(81.54%), Talbros Auto(19.4%) and Sonata Software(15.38%).
The 30-share BSE Sensex ended 195.71 points down at 57064.87, while the 50-share index, NSE closed 70.75 points down at 16983.2.
In the Nifty50 index, 21 stocks closed in the green, while 29 stocks ended in the red.
Meanwhile, stocks such as Go Fashion(India)Ltd., KPIT Tech, Orient Electric, Timken India and Lovable Lingerie hit their fresh 52-week high, while Manas Properties, Sigachi Industries Ltd., DCB Bank, Gulf Oil India and CreditAccess Grameen touched their new 52-week low in today’s trade.
