Shares of Sun Pharmaceutical Industries (up 2.53 per cent), Cipla (up 2.31 per cent), Biocon (up 2.17 per cent), Lupin (up 2.16 per cent) and Dr Reddy’s Laboratories (up 1.77 per cent) were among the top gainers.
While Alkem Laboratories (down 1.33 per cent), Divi’s Laboratories (down 0.41 per cent), Torrent Pharmaceuticals (down 0.07 per cent) and Aurobindo Pharma (down 0.01 per cent) were the top losers in the index.
The Nifty Pharma index was trading 1.4 per cent up at 12204.35 around 01:31PM.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 151.80 points at 15133.8, while the BSE Sensex was up 415.03 points at 51196.72.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 34 were trading in the green, while 16 were in the red.
Shares of BHEL, Vodafone Idea, PNB, Tata Power and Coal India were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of Hind Copper, BHEL, Tata Chemicals, NBCC and Zensar Tech hit their fresh 52 week high in today’s trade, while Marine Electricals (India) Ltd. hit fresh 52 week low in trade.
