Alkem Laboratories (up 1.21 per cent), Biocon (up 0.89 per cent), Divis Laboratories (up 0.81 per cent), Dr Reddys Laboratories (up 0.48 per cent) and Cipla (up 0.45 per cent) were among the top gainers.
Aurobindo Pharma (down 0.65 per cent) and Sun Pharmaceutical Industries (down 0.07 per cent) were the top losers on the index.
The Nifty Pharma index was up 0.34 per cent at 14684.45 at the time of writing this report.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 98.95 points at 15824.45, while the BSE Sensex was down 375.55 points at 52764.51.
