NEW DELHI: Several stocks plunged in excess of 5 per cent in Mumbai trading on Tuesday even as equity benchmark BSE Sensex traded 273.51 points down at 52578.76 amid brisk selling in frontline bluechip counters.
On the BSE, SK International Exp (down 20.00 per cent), Jointeca Edu (down 19.95 per cent), Prime Fresh (down 19.72 per cent), Sreeleather (down 13.16 per cent) and Orient Bell (down 13.02 per cent) stood among the top losers in today’s trade.
In the Nifty pack, 18 stocks closed in the green, while 32 stocks ended in the red.
The index closed 78.0 points down at 15746.45.
On the BSE, Alembic Pharma, JLAInfraville&Shop, Aartech Solonics, Octal Credit Capital and CHD Chemicals Ltd. hit their fresh 52-week lows, while HIM Teknoforge, Metroglobal Ltd, Pondy Oxides, Shreyans Ind and Alpine Housing touched their fresh 52-week highs in today’s trade.
