Shares of TVS Motor Company (up 2.2 per cent), Tata Motors (up 1.64 per cent), Eicher Motors (up 1.24 per cent), TIINDIA (up 0.95 per cent) and Exide Industries (up 0.28 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.
On the other hand, Amara Raja Batteries (down 1.55 per cent), Maruti Suzuki (down 1.35 per cent), Bharat Forge (down 1.34 per cent), Mahindra & Mahindra (down 0.78 per cent) and Bajaj Auto (down 0.68 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.
The Nifty Auto index closed 0.25 per cent down at 9808.65.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended up 10.05 points at 16634.65, while the BSE Sensex stood down 14.77 points at 55944.21.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 21 ended in the green, while 29 closed in the red.
Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, Zomato Ltd., PNB and NALCO were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of Hind Rectifiers, Saksoft Ltd, Linde India, HAL and Precision Wires hit their fresh 52-week highs in today’s trade, while Transwind Infrastruc, IMP Powers Ltd, Grand Foundry, CarTrade Tech Ltd. and AmaraRaja Batteries hit their fresh 52-week lows.
