Shares of HCL Technologies (up 1.13 per cent), Larsen & Toubro Infotech (up 0.98 per cent), Oracle Financial Services Software (up 0.58 per cent) and Tata Consultancy (up 0.35 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.
On the other hand, MPhasis (down 1.75 per cent), Tech Mahindra (down 0.93 per cent), Coforge (down 0.61 per cent), Infosys (down 0.45 per cent) and Wipro (down 0.43 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.
The Nifty IT index closed 0.13 per cent down at 34041.1.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended up 2.25 points at 16636.9, while the BSE Sensex stood up 4.89 points at 55949.1.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 20 ended in the green, while 30 closed in the red.
