Benchmark NSE Nifty index rose 26.05 points to 16957.1 amid buying in frontline bluechip stocks.
However, stocks such as Inventure Grwth and Nakoda Group Of Ind, touched their fresh 52-week low.
Overall, 30 shares traded in the green in Nifty50 index, while 20 traded in the red.
In the Nifty 50 index, Bharti Airtel, Hindalco, Asian Paints, Bajaj Finance and Adani Ports SEZ were among top gainers, while Tata Motors, IndusInd Bank, BPCL, M&M and RIL traded in the red.
The BSE Sensex was trading 102.28 points up at 56992.04 at 10:24AM (IST).
Traders were seen piling up positions in Diversified, Tea / Coffee, Metals – Ferrous, Industrial Equipment and Hospitals & Allied Services sectors, while selling was visible in IT – Hardware, Petrochemicals, Power, Miscellaneous and Industrial Consumables sectors.
