Shares of IndusInd Bank (up 4.04 per cent), IDFCBANK (up 2.35 per cent), RBLBANK (up 1.8 per cent), Kotak Mahindra Bank (up 1.51 per cent) and Axis Bank (up 0.77 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.
On the other hand, AU Small Finance Bank (down 1.43 per cent) and HDFC Bank (down 0.45 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.
The Nifty Bank index closed 0.39 per cent up at 36613.05.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended up 24.7 points at 17380.0, while the BSE Sensex stood up 69.33 points at 58247.09.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 32 ended in the green, while 18 closed in the red.
Shares of YES Bank, Vodafone Idea, Zee Ent., Zomato Ltd. and BHEL were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of Ami Organics Ltd., Zee Ent., Vijaya Diagnostic Centre Ltd., Hatsun Agro and Cosmo Films hit their fresh 52-week highs in today’s trade, while Suvidhaa Infoserve Ltd., Grand Foundry, Inventure Grwth and Varroc Engg. hit their fresh 52-week lows.
