Bharat Forge (down 0.51 per cent) were the top losers on the index.
The Nifty Auto index was up 0.52 per cent at 10263.0 at the time of writing this report.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 67.15 points at 17447.15, while the BSE Sensex was up 192.5 points at 58439.59.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 38 were trading in the green, while 12 were in the red.
