Benchmark NSE Nifty index rose 175.85 points to 17707.9 amid buying in frontline bluechip stocks.
However, stocks such as Jiya Eco Products Lt, Metalyst Forgings, Opto Circuits, BKM Industries and Autolite India, touched their fresh 52-week low.
Overall, 40 shares traded in the green in Nifty50 index, while 10 traded in the red.
In the Nifty 50 index, Divis Labs, NTPC, Bajaj Finserv, Bajaj Finance and M&M were among top gainers, while Grasim Inds., UPL, JSW Steel, Tata Steel and Indian Oil Corp. traded in the red.
The BSE Sensex was trading 625.01 points up at 59390.59 at 10:14AM(IST).
Traders were seen piling up positions in Diversified, Sugar, Plastics, Holding Company and Metals – Ferrous sectors, while selling was visible in Learning & Education, Textiles, Petrochemicals, Power and Telecommunications sectors.
