The NSE Nifty50 index was trading 20.1 points down at 17671.15, while the 30-share BSE Sensex was down 92.17 points at 59207.15 at around 09:59AM.
Oil & Natural Gas Corporation(up 6.47%), Coal India(up 3.63%), Indian Oil Corporation(up 2.53%), UPL Ltd(up 1.59%), Maruti Suzuki(up 1.43%), Power Grid Corporation of India(up 1.17%), Eicher Motors(up 1.14%), Bharti Airtel(up 1.09%), Asian Paints(up 0.95%) and Bajaj Auto(up 0.84%) were among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.
On the other hand, Cipla(down 2.44%), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries(down 1.82%), Dr Reddys Laboratories(down 1.31%), Divis Laboratories(down 1.22%), HCL Technologies(down 1.17%), Bajaj Finserv(down 1.16%), Tech Mahindra(down 1.13%), ICICI Bank(down 0.84%), Infosys(down 0.76%) and Hindalco Industries(down 0.72%) were trading in the red.
