Bosch(up 7.83 per cent), TIINDIA(up 0.91 per cent), Exide Industries(up 0.61 per cent), Mahindra & Mahindra(up 0.46 per cent) and Eicher Motors(up 0.08 per cent) were among the top gainers.
Tata Motors(down 0.84 per cent), Amara Raja Batteries(down 0.71 per cent), TVS Motor Company(down 0.64 per cent), Ashok Leyland(down 0.53 per cent) and Hero MotoCorp(down 0.46 per cent) were the top losers on the index.
The Nifty Auto index was up 0.07 per cent at 10699.3 at the time of writing this report.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 1.5 points at 17823.8, while the BSE Sensex was up 2.89 points at 59747.77.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 17 were trading in the green, while 33 were in the red.
