Shares of TVS Motor Company(up 1.14 per cent), Maruti Suzuki(up 0.2 per cent), Balkrishna Industries(up 0.17 per cent) and Hero MotoCorp(up 0.09 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.
On the other hand, Tata Motors(down 1.83 per cent), Eicher Motors(down 1.81 per cent), Ashok Leyland(down 1.16 per cent), MRF(down 1.09 per cent) and TIINDIA(down 1.06 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.
The Nifty Auto index closed 0.59 per cent down at 11800.3.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended up 176.8 points at 18338.55, while the BSE Sensex stood up 568.9 points at 61305.95.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 35 ended in the green, while 15 closed in the red.
Shares of PNB, Tata Power, Trident Ltd, Vodafone Idea and Tata Motors were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of Univastu India, Borosil L, KDDL Ltd, Manaksia Coated and Marshall Machines hit their fresh 52-week highs in today’s trade, while Destiny Logistics & Infra Ltd., Pasupati Acrylon, Inventure Grwth, Marine Electricals and Airo Lam hit their fresh 52-week lows.
