Equity benchmark Sensex ended the session down 456.09 points at 61259.96.
The top gainers included Universal Autofoundr(up 9.98%), Chandrima Mercantile(up 9.97%), Ansal Prop(up 9.95%), Mukta Arts(up 9.91%), Paras Defence and Space Technologies Ltd.(up 9.81%), Mayukh Dealtrade(up 9.55%), Charms Ind(up 9.47%), Viaan Industries (up 9.38%), ISF Ltd(up 9.15%) and Vaksons Automobiles(up 9.01%) which surged over 5% in today’s trade.
In the Nifty 50 index, stocks such as Bharti Airtel(up 4.02%), SBI(up 2.40%), Tata Motors(up 1.04%), IndusInd Bank(up 0.64%) and Axis Bank(up 0.39%) were among the top gainers.
The Nifty 50 index ended 152.15 points down at 18266.60.
Among the 50 components in the Nifty index, 11 shares ended in the green, while 39 closed in the red.
