NEW DELHI: Several stocks plunged in excess of 5 per cent in Mumbai trading on Monday even as equity benchmark BSE Sensex traded 209.46 points up at 59516.39 amid brisk buying in frontline bluechip counters.
On the BSE, Tanvi Foods(India)(down 20.00 per cent), Unjha Form(down 9.91 per cent), Super Tex Ind(down 9.54 per cent), Gujarat Lease(down 9.06 per cent) and CIL Securities(down 8.99 per cent) were among the stocks that plunged over 5 per cent during the session.
In the Nifty pack, 38 stocks traded in the green, while 12 stocks traded in the red.
The Nifty index was trading 78.6 points up at 17750.25.
On the BSE, Adishakti Loha and Ispat Ltd., K-Lifestyle Ind, ACE Edutrend, ThirdwaveFinIntrm and Systematix Sec hit their fresh 52-week lows, while Panchmahal Steel, K P Energy Ltd., Minda Corp., Precision Wires and LG Balakrishnan touched their fresh 52-week highs.
