SBI Pension Seva | Video Life certificate: SBI launches video life certificate for pensioners: Here is how to use it

The State Bank of India (SBI) has today launched a video life certificate service for pensioners. This new facility, launched today, will allow pensioners to submit their life certificates via video from their homes. As per SBI, the process of video life certificate is paperless and free of cost. SBI announced this launch via a tweet from its official Twitter account.

“Now submit your #LifeCertificate from the comfort of your home! Our #VideoLifeCertificate service launching on 1st Nov 2021 will allow pensioners to submit their life certificates through a simple video call” said the tweet.

It is important for pensioners to submit their life certificates before November 30 every year to avoid their pensions getting suspended. If the life certificate is not submitted by the pensioner, then he/she will stop receiving his/her pension.

If you are a pensioner with a pension account with SBI, here is how you can use the video facility to submit your Jeevan Patra before the deadline.

How to use video life certificate from SBI

As per the tweet, a pensioner having a pension account with SBI will be required to follow the below-mentioned steps to submit their video life certificate

Step 1: Visit pension seva website: www.pensionseva.sbi

Step 2: Click on Video LC to initiate the video life certificate process.

Step 3: Enter your SBI pension account number

Step 4: Enter the one-time password (OTP) received on your registered mobile number with Aadhaar and click on ‘Submit’.

Step 5: Agree on terms and conditions and click on ‘Start Journey’.

Step 6: Keep your original PAN card ready and click on ‘I am ready’.

Step 7: You will be required to grant permission for starting the video call. Once the permission is granted, then you will be interacting with the SBI official as soon as he/she is available. Also, you have an option to schedule the interaction at your convenience.

Step 8: At the time of interaction with the SBI official, you will be required to read the 4-digit verification shown on your screen.

Step 9: Show your PAN card so that the bank official can capture it. As per SBI, you are not required to show your Aadhaar card anytime during the video life certificate. Only keep PAN card handy.

Step 10: The bank official will capture your picture and the video life certificate process is complete.

In case, your video life certificate is rejected then you will be informed of the same via SMS. In such a scenario, you will be required to visit your bank branch to submit a life certificate.
