The NSE Nifty50 index ended 229.15 points up at 18102.75, while the 30-share BSE Sensex closed up 767.0 points at 60686.69.
Tech Mahindra(up 4.14%), Hindalco Industries(up 3.22%), HDFC(up 2.88%), Wipro(up 2.84%), Infosys(up 2.71%), HDFC LIFE INSURANCE(up 2.56%), Bajaj Finserv(up 2.25%), Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone(up 2.07%), Bharti Airtel(up 2.05%) and Asian Paints(up 1.94%) stood among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.
On the other hand, Bajaj Auto(down 3.06%), Tata Steel(down 0.95%), Hero MotoCorp(down 0.66%), Axis Bank(down 0.27%), Indian Oil Corporation(down 0.26%), NTPC(down 0.15%), Power Grid Corporation of India(down 0.08%) and Coal India(down 0.03%) closed in the red.
