NCLT Mumbai adjourns Invesco case against ZEE till December 14

The Mumbai bench of the National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT) on Tuesday adjourned to December 14 a case filed by Invesco, which had sought a direction to Enterprises for convening an extraordinary general meeting (EGM) of shareholders.

Last month, the Bombay High Court had granted an injunction against Invesco, the largest shareholder of ZEE, over the requisition notice for board reconstitution. This was challenged by the offshore investor before a division bench.

The case will come up before the division bench on November 29.

The NCLT bench led by judicial member Bhaskara Pantula Mohan and Narender Kumar Bhola adjourned the matter in view of the pending appeals in the high court and the NCLAT.

Justice GS Patel of the high court had granted relief to ZEE against Invesco’s call for the EGM, wherein the shareholder had sought the removal of ZEE managing director and CEO Punit Goenka and reconstitution of the board.
