ETMarkets Investors’ Guide: Will 2022 bring a rude awakening for Indian investors?

Welcome to ETMarkets’ Investors Guide, a show about asset classes, market trends, and investment opportunities. This is Bhaskar Dutta..

After the respite following Diwali, selling pressure on Dalal Street has made a comeback this week. With many international broking houses downgrading their stance on India citing expensive valuations, investors are concerned that the best of the bull market may be behind.

In order to understand if the Indian equity market’s best days are behind and what challenges it will face in 2022, ETMarkets’ Chiranjivi Chakraborty caught up with Mr. Vinit Sambre, head of equities at DSP Mutual Fund.

Listen in!

Q. Many global fund managers are singling out inflation as the biggest risk to the equity rally. Do you share this fear?

Q. We have seen the midcap space make a little bit of a comeback after the sell-off in July and August. How are you approaching this segment of the market?

Q. Given that we are now 20 months into the pandemic, have you seen enough evidence to suggest that we could actually see a multi-year bull market in India?

Q. This year has been a solid year for investors in terms of returns. What is the mindset with which you are approaching 2022 and how has it changed, say, when compared to 2020?

Thank you Chiranjivi and Mr. Sambre for a very intriguing conversation.

That’s all in this week’s special podcast. Do keep checking this space for more interesting content and take time out to follow our market podcasts twice every day. Stay safe and Happy Weekend!
