Shares of TVS Motor Company(up 1.11 per cent), Bosch(up 0.78 per cent) and Tata Motors(up 0.27 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.
On the other hand, Ashok Leyland(down 3.5 per cent), Amara Raja Batteries(down 2.18 per cent), MRF(down 1.82 per cent), Hero MotoCorp(down 1.53 per cent) and Exide Industries(down 1.21 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.
The Nifty Auto index closed 0.52 per cent down at 10704.15.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended up 27.5 points at 17053.95, while the BSE Sensex stood up 153.43 points at 57260.58.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 18 ended in the green, while 32 closed in the red.
Shares of Vodafone Idea, Tata Power, YES Bank, PNB and SAIL were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of Universus Photo, Trejhara Solutions L, BEML, Raymond and Marshall Machines hit their fresh 52-week highs in today’s trade, while Sapphire Foods India Ltd., Rajshree Polypack, Kesoram Inds.(PP), Quadpro ITeS Ltd. and RPP Infra Proj(PP)hit their fresh 52-week lows.
