Shares of Coforge(up 2.62 per cent), L&T Technology(up 1.5 per cent), Wipro(up 1.05 per cent), Infosys(up 0.96 per cent) and Larsen & Toubro Infotech(up 0.91 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.
On the other hand, MPhasis(down 3.12 per cent) and Mindtree(down 2.62 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.
The Nifty IT index closed 0.5 per cent up at 35043.75.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended down 70.75 points at 16983.2, while the BSE Sensex stood down 195.71 points at 57064.87.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 21 ended in the green, while 29 closed in the red.
