NEW DELHI: Shares of and Waterbase advanced over 4 per cent after the Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman in her Budget speech said the government will set up fisheries hubs.
She proposed five major fisheries hubs and said the government will develop harbours and fish planting centres. She also proposed to establish a multi-purpose seaweed park in Tamil Nadu.
Following these announcements, Waterbase climbed 4.38 per cent to end at Rs 119.25, while its peer Avanti Feeds added 2.52 per cent to Rs 521.50.
The 30-share pack Sensex advanced 2,314.84 points or 5.00 per cent to end at 48,600.61. Its broader peer, NSE Nifty climbed 645.60 points or 4.74 per cent to end at 14,281.20.
