Gold futures fell 2.11 per cent to Rs 48,297 per 10 gram on Monday as participants offloaded their holdings on low spot demand.
On the Multi Commodity Exchange, gold prices for April delivery declined Rs 1040, or 2.11 per cent, to Rs 48,297 per 10 gram in a business turnover of 13259 lots.
However, in the international market, gold was trading 0.84 per cent higher at USD 1,865.90 per ounce in New York.
