midcap stocks: Stock market update: BSE MidCap index rises over 1%; Apollo Hospitals soars 12%

NEW DELHI: S&P BSE MidCap index were trading with gains at 02:08PM (IST) on Monday.

Shares of Cholamandalam Investment & Finance (up 12.83 per cent), Apollo Hospitals Enterprises (up 11.89 per cent), Adani Transmissions (up 9.38 per cent), Adani Enterprises (up 8.54 per cent) and Mahindra & Mahindra Financial (up 6.2 per cent) were among the top gainers.

While Union Bank of India (down 5.99 per cent), Amara Raja Batteries (down 5.96 per cent), Vodafone Idea (down 2.95 per cent), Indraprastha Gas (down 2.83 per cent) and Bharat Forge (down 2.79 per cent) were the top losers in the index.

The S&P BSE MidCap index was trading 1.55 per cent up at 20218.85 around 02:08PM.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 144.10 points at 15307.4, while the BSE Sensex was up 565.73 points at 52110.03.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 29 were trading in the green, while 21 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, Suzlon Energy, Motherson Sumi, YES Bank and PNB were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of MahindraCIE, Route Mobile, Apollo Hospital and Adani Gas hit their fresh 52 week high in today’s trade, while Chandrima Mercantiles Ltd., Devhari Exports (India) Ltd., Mitshi India Ltd., Sanwaria Consumer Ltd., Suncare Traders Ltd., Vani Commercials Ltd., Interactive Financial Services Ltd., Meenakshi Enterprises Ltd., Padmanabh Industries Ltd. and Anupam Finserv Ltd. hit fresh 52 week low in trade.
