Bank stocks: Stock market update: Bank stocks fall; HDFC Bank sheds nearly 2%

NEW DELHI: Bank stocks were trading on a negative note at 01:19PM (IST) on Wednesday.

Shares of IndusInd Bank (down 1.7 per cent), HDFC Bank (down 1.69 per cent), RBL Bank (down 1.64 per cent), Kotak Mahindra Bank (down 0.78 per cent) and ICICI Bank (down 0.36 per cent) were the top losers in the index.

While

(up 6.08 per cent), IDFC Bank (up 5.39 per cent), Bank of Baroda (up 3.89 per cent), Federal Bank (up 2.46 per cent) and State Bank of India (up 2.22 per cent) were among the top gainers.

The Nifty Bank index was trading 0.25 per cent down at 37007.1 around 01:19PM.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 78.30 points at 15235.15, while the BSE Sensex was down 312.66 points at 51791.51.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 15 were trading in the green, while 33 were in the red.

Shares of PNB, Central Bank Ind, Vodafone Idea, IOB and Bank of India were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Bank of Maharashtra, IOB, Bank of India, Happiest Minds and Dr Lal Pathlabs hit their fresh 52 week high in today’s trade, while Vera Synthetic, Jiya Eco Products, Sanwaria Consumer, We Win and Shri Ram Switchgears hit fresh 52 week low in trade.
