Smallcap stocks: Stock market update: BSE SmallCap index sheds over 1%; Indian Overseas Bank tanks 10%

NEW DELHI: S&P BSE SmallCap index was trading on a negative note at 02:49PM (IST) on Friday.

Shares of

(down 9.98 per cent), Indian Overseas Bank (down 9.74 per cent), (down 8.85 per cent), Indian Bank (down 6.91 per cent) and Visaka Industries (down 6.27 per cent) were the top losers in the index.

While SORIL Infra Resources (up 13.39 per cent), Camlin Fine Sciences (up 10.71 per cent), OnMobile Global (up 8.91 per cent), Hindustan Foods (up 8.07 per cent) and KRBL (up 7.16 per cent) were among the top gainers.

The S&P BSE SmallCap index was trading 1.23 per cent down at 19769.23 around 02:49PM.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 191.45 points at 14927.5, while the BSE Sensex was down 587.58 points at 50737.11.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 8 were trading in the green, while 42 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, PNB, , Central Bank of India and Bank of Maharashtra were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of The New India Assurance, Rossari Biotech, IDFC First Bank, Redington and Karur Vysya Bank hit their fresh 52week high in today’s trade.
