Container Corporation of India Ltd. shares down 0.7% as Nifty drops

NEW DELHI: Shares of Ltd. traded 0.7 per cent down in Monday’s trade at 01:46PM (IST). Around 53,848 shares changed hands on the counter.

The counter opened at Rs 558.2 and touched an intraday high and low of Rs 566.55 and Rs 551.05, respectively, in the session so far. The stock of Container Corporation of India Ltd. quoted a 52-week high of Rs 643.9 and a 52-week low of Rs 263.2.

As per BSE, the total market cap of the Container Corporation of India Ltd. stood at Rs 33715.3 crore at the time of writing this report.

Key Financials

The company reported consolidated net sales of Rs 1842.11 crore for the quarter ended 31-Dec-2020, up 17.04 per cent from previous quarter’s Rs 1573.97 crore and up 14.39 per cent from the year-ago quarter’s Rs 1610.34 crore.

The net profit for latest quarter stood at Rs 234.27 crore, up 29.51 per cent from the same quarter a year ago.

Shareholding pattern

As of 31-Dec-2020, DIIs held 8.33 per cent stake in the company, while foreign institutional investors held 23.26 per cent and the promoters 54.8 per cent.

Valuation ratio

According to BSE data, the stock traded at a price-to-earnings multiple of 42.62 and a price-to-book ratio of 2.01. A higher P/E ratio shows investors are willing to pay a higher price because of better future growth expectations. Price-to-book value indicates the inherent value of a company and is the measure of the price that investors are ready to pay even for no growth in the business.
