The month of April has a few important bank holidays. For instance, all banks will be closed on April 1 (Thursday) due to the closing of accounts. Further, April 2 (Friday) is a bank holiday on account of Good Friday. April 14 (Wednesday) is a bank holiday across many states due to Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Jayanti/Tamil New Year’s Day/Vishu/Biju Festival/Cheiraoba/Bohag Bihu. April 21 (Wednesday), too, is a bank holiday across various states due to Ram Navmi (Chaite Dashain)/Garia Puja.
There are a few more state-specific bank holidays. These are:
April 13 (Tuesday): Bank holiday on account of Gudhi Padwa/Telugu New Year’s Day/Ugadi Festival/Sajibu Nongmapanba (Cheiraoba)/1st Navratra/Baisakhi.
April 15: Bank holiday on account of Himachal Day/Bengali New Year’s Day/Bohag Bihu/Sarhul.
Apart from these days, banks will also be closed on second and fourth Saturdays and on Sundays.
