Among the stocks that touched their 52-week highs on NSE were: 3M India, JSW Steel, APL Apollo Tubes, Orchid Pharma, Apollo Pipes, CDSL, Mphasis, NRB Industrial Bearings, Pritish Nandy Communications, Tata Steel, UPL and Godrej Industries.
Overall, 27 shares were trading in green in Nifty50 index, while 22 were trading in red in the afternoon trade.
In the Nifty 50 index, Tata Motors, ITC, SBI Life, UPL and Tata Steel were among top gainers, while HDFC Bank, HDFC, Power Grid, ICICI Bank and Hero MotoCorp were trading in red.
The BSE Sensex was trading 444.47 points down at 49692.11. Traders were seen piling up position in Glass, Diversified, General, Metals – Non Ferrous and Metals – Ferrous sectors, while selling were visible in Plastics, Infrastructure, Consumer Durables, Banks and NBFC sectors.
