Lupin share price: Lupin shares up 2.58% as Nifty drops

NEW DELHI: Shares of Ltd. traded 2.58 per cent up in Wednesday’s trade at 10:00AM (IST). Around 73,205 shares changed hands on the counter.

The stock opened at Rs 1219.85 and touched an intraday high and low of Rs 1247.2 and Rs 1212.6, respectively, in the session so far. The stock of Lupin Ltd. quoted a 52-week high of Rs 1247.2 and a 52-week low of Rs 828.65.

As per BSE, the total market cap of the Lupin Ltd. stood at Rs 56399.25 crore at the time of writing this report.

Key Financials

The company reported consolidated sales of Rs 3841.32 crore for the quarter ended 31-Mar-2021, down 4.88 per cent from previous quarter’s Rs 4038.53 crore and down 5.25 per cent from the year-ago quarter’s Rs 4054.34 crore.

The net profit for latest quarter stood at Rs 460.36 crore, up 18.15 per cent from the same quarter a year ago.

Shareholding pattern

As of 31-Mar-2021, DIIs held 13.05 per cent stake in the company, while foreign institutional investors held 17.87 per cent and the promoters 46.58 per cent.

Valuation ratio

According to BSE data, the stock traded at a price-to-earnings multiple of 46.36 and a price-to-book ratio of 2.13. A higher P/E ratio shows investors are willing to pay a higher price because of better future growth expectations. Price-to-book value indicates the inherent value of a company and is the measure of the price that investors are ready to pay even for no growth in the business.
