Berger Paints share price: Berger Paints shares down 0.4% as Nifty drops

NEW DELHI: Shares of (India) Ltd. traded 0.4 per cent down in Friday’s trade at 12:35PM (IST). Around 18,196 shares changed hands on the counter.

The counter opened at Rs 800.0 and touched an intraday high and low of Rs 804.55 and Rs 795.0, respectively, in the session so far. The stock of Berger Paints (India) Ltd. quoted a 52-week high of Rs 842.55 and a 52-week low of Rs 471.85.

As per BSE, the total market cap of the Berger Paints (India) Ltd. stood at Rs 77514.2 crore at the time of writing this report.


Key Financials

The company reported consolidated net sales of Rs 2041.09 crore for the quarter ended 31-Mar-2021, down 4.34 per cent from previous quarter’s Rs 2133.79 crore and down 48.82 per cent from the year-ago quarter’s Rs 1371.49 crore.

The net profit for latest quarter stood at Rs 208.59 crore, up 101.11 per cent from the same quarter a year ago.

Shareholding pattern

As of 31-Mar-2021, DIIs held 0.82 per cent stake in the company, while foreign institutional investors held 11.24 per cent and the promoters 60.5 per cent.

Valuation ratio

According to BSE data, the stock traded at a price-to-earnings multiple of 107.7 and a price-to-book ratio of 18.16. A higher P/E ratio shows investors are willing to pay a higher price because of better future growth expectations. Price-to-book value indicates the inherent value of a company and is the measure of the price that investors are ready to pay even for no growth in the business.
