TIINDIA (up 1.91 per cent), Bajaj Auto (up 0.64 per cent), Amara Raja Batteries (up 0.38 per cent) and Exide Industries (up 0.3 per cent) were among the top gainers.
Maruti Suzuki (down 0.63 per cent), Balkrishna Industries (down 0.62 per cent), TVS Motor Company (down 0.46 per cent), Mahindra & Mahindra (down 0.45 per cent) and Tata Motors (down 0.21 per cent) were the top losers on the index.
The Nifty Auto index was down 0.16 per cent at 10480.75 at the time of writing this report.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 25.6 points at 15786.75, while the BSE Sensex was down 82.9 points at 52686.83.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 16 were trading in the green, while 33 were in the red.
