NEW DELHI: Several stocks plunged in excess of 5 per cent in Mumbai trading on Friday even as equity benchmark BSE Sensex traded 26.68 points down at 53132.17 amid brisk selling in frontline bluechip counters.
On the BSE, SPS Finquest (down 8.92 per cent), Shangar Decor (down 8.62 per cent), Avantel (down 8.57 per cent), Unique Organics (down 7.72 per cent) and Cheviot Company (down 7.40 per cent) were among the stocks that plunged over 5 per cent during the session.
In the Nifty pack, 28 stocks traded in the green, while 22 stocks traded in the red.
The Nifty index was trading 5.65 points down at 15918.55.
On the BSE, Shangar Decor, Premier Capital Services Ltd., Tricom Fruit, Santosh Fine and Rander Corp hit their fresh 52-week lows, while Eco Recycling, Datamatics Glob, Tera Software, Loyal Textiles and Elpro Intnl touched their fresh 52-week highs.
