Tata Motors (up 0.97 per cent), Balkrishna Industries (up 0.71 per cent), TIINDIA (up 0.63 per cent), Hero MotoCorp (up 0.53 per cent) and TVS Motor Company (up 0.3 per cent) were among the top gainers.
Eicher Motors (down 1.7 per cent), Ashok Leyland (down 1.24 per cent), Bosch (down 0.37 per cent), Bharat Forge (down 0.26 per cent) and Amara Raja Batteries (down 0.2 per cent) were the top losers on the index.
The Nifty Auto index was down 0.04 per cent at 10421.4 at the time of writing this report.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 1.5 points at 15925.7, while the BSE Sensex was down 7.48 points at 53151.37.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 28 were trading in the green, while 21 were in the red.
