Benchmark NSE Nifty index fell 74.1 points to 15678.3 amid selling in frontline bluechip stocks.
However, stocks such as Walpar Nutritions Ltd. and AKG Exim Ltd., touched their fresh 52-week low.
Overall, 20 shares traded in the green in Nifty50 index, while 30 traded in the red.
In the Nifty 50 index, Shree Cements, UltraTech Cem., Power Grid, Asian Paints and Bajaj Auto were among top gainers, while HCL Tech, Hindalco, HDFC Bank, M&M and Bharti Airtel traded in the red.
The BSE Sensex was trading 233.05 points down at 52320.35 at 10:14AM (IST).
Traders were seen piling up positions in Diversified, Cement, Retail, Logistics and Building Materials sectors, while selling was visible in Plastics, Chemicals, IT – Hardware, Textiles and Industrial Consumables sectors.
